In greek mythology, Amphitrite was the wife of Poseidon, the sea god. She was the mother of  Triton, a merman. Her Roman counterpart was named Salacia

Too bad in mythology we don't often mention the mothers of the heroes they always mention to (seriously, you taught me something today!)

I like the colors you added in this picture; mostly the green and the blue shades which match up pretty well in the hair, the sea, the seaweeds used as accessories and a bit the dress. ^^ I almost forgot the sky too. Interesting idea, anyway.
